The Pressac models are identical, simply unbranded. They are the manufacturer (or 1 of them) who supplied these to OpenReach.
There are branded versions on Amazon for a little more if this is essential.

I've bought various items from the seller Bristol Communications & Electrical LTD.

Yes I thought that the bell-wire filter was on the removable front part.

I was aware that Pressac is the manufacturer (or one them) for BT, so it's a name I respect. I'm inclined to avoid the ones with MOVs (or whatever) in them - am I right? The run-it-direct units are hellishly expensive because of the huge postage costs compared with Amazon, but the second Amazon one I linked to had no details at all.

Would our BT man be ok with my supplying the units?

Located as you are, in an environment that is prone to atmospheric electrical discharges of significant intensity, I would prefer the presence of a MOV or a 26A.

Do we believe that these devices actually degrade signal quality? Run-it-direct seems to be a believer.

I would be inclined to assume by a very tiny amount.
