Confirmed price rises from sky

Not a happy customer at the moment, especially when faced with the possibility of losing all Discovery channels in 2 days. I'm paying more than double what I used to 6 years ago - all because of one sport that I care very little about. When the current lock-in period finishes, I'm leaving them for good.

Some broadband customers who are either on legacy products, or who had previously been benefitting from a lower price, will see their bills brought into line with current pricing.

haha so with fibre pro now considered a legacy product I can claim to get matched pricing with fibre max?

I tried again to get a discount as out of contract but still no. We rarely watch sky stuff anyway so have ditched the tv. If they had been willing to offer some discount on the fibre pro I have had for some time they would have continued to keep the TV business..

I wonder why Sky are raising all their prices? They are going beyond the other ISP's as they are also increasing the TV side of things too.

I don't buy the "Sky says the price rises reflect its ongoing investment in its onscreen TV line up, the cost of delivering a physical landline for calls and line rental to customers’ doors, investment in technology, and investment in its customer service. " They probably could have stopped the line at investment in its onscreen TV line up.

Unless Sky have some big plan that we dont know about yet, then they are in danger of pricing themselves out of the market.

Bowden its down to the rising cost of sports rights.

Both BT and Sky are spreading the cost of sports rights across their entire product portfolio, essentially sports rights are toxic.

I think the biggest base of customers are off these economic borderline estate areas.. the more they keep increasing the prices the more they are encouraging piracy, as people just won't be able to avoid the subscription fee.

Looking at the vdsl and rental with static IP theres not much in it between Zen and sky and I suppose its poss Zen mught increase their prices anyway so moving might not save much buy the time you factor in Zen's setup fee etc.

Just glad to be out of the tv contract for now.

It is worth noting that Zen have frozen their line rental prices till 2020. Other prices could change though.

I checked my future costs section and for me is just the £1.50 for line rental.

I also got the message about loss of discovery channels which I think sky are cheeky in not dropping tv prices for those who pay for tv for the loss of such channels.  They seem to think everyone only is interested in football.

I will try them again this week for a discount as my combined bill for line + broadband is now close to £50.  I will not drop my static ip tho.

Same here wirh our monthly being  £54 including eves & weekend package, plus voice mail...

I guess with the amount of times I have tried to get a discount and failed they want to get shot of us old pro fibre static bods..

Finally - obviously now I have been cancelling various elements of our package after the 5th go I managed to swing £10 off my fibre pro package..   Happy Days!

The tendency of companies to increase prices of various things then throw discounts at people who complain like sweets is bothersome. If they can afford to discount they can afford lower price rises, or none at all.

just got the same result although they tried to push sky Q onto me first.

Seems a manager has approved the discounts in last day or so.

I will check to ensure I am staying on pro tho, she insisted the package is staying the same but I am paranoid they will change it. :p
