Hi just been reading through this thread, and now I have a VMG8924-B10A on latest 28c firmware with all option available and supervisor access with my own password set.. Thanks everyone. I think it was origionaly a John-Lewis device..

But I do have this strange problem, which seems to be on all firmware versions ive tried, 07C, 10C, 28C,.

When I have something plugged into any of the ethernet ports, I cannot connect via wifi, from any device, not on 5G either??  I have to unplug what ever is in the ethernet ports and then all devices will connect.,   once wifi devices are connected I can plug in ethernet devices and all is ok until a wifi device disconects and trys to connect again.. I have to unplug the ethernets again.....what can this be, its driving me crazy..

I am just using 3G with a dongle for my internet connection, no adls or cable wan connected..
Any ideas anyone? Im sure its just a setting some where, but dont know what to try?  Or could this be another bug, with this router?

That is a rather peculiar problem. I can't say that I've ever read of anyone else experiencing it.

What do you have connected to the ethernet port as I'm wondering if one particular device is causing this very odd behaviour?

thanks could you guide me a little through the initial part i.e. the csamu trick on the 8324 ?
Do i just putty or telnet in using normal admin and password and then type , echo $(cat /var/csamu)
i presume this gives some code that i need to "decode the base64 strings found in the files" ?
thanks

update - i tried using ;
> echo $(cat /var/csamu)

and got this ;

Just tried this, works fine!

telnetd:error:317.879:processInput:599:unrecognized command echo $(cat /var/csamu)
> echo
telnetd:error:374.535:processInput:599:unrecognized command echo

2nd update - ahaa!! i got it using ;
cat /var/csamu
and base64'd it to text and it works!

many thanks for this
