sunzz, thats the issue, the engineer is only looking at the speed and not how the speed is obtained.  This is what I meant by dumbed down tech support.

For crosstalk to completely wipe out U2 yet not wipe out the neighbouring DS tones I find extremely unlikely.

Yeh from what iv gathering from this forum and doing research, crosstalk doesnt just focus on one section lol, normally if u get crosstalked, both down and up drop by a certain percentage together? like 10% on both up and down etc.

wtf so im looking at my stats on my asus router, iv got UPBO enabled as it was way to unstable and pumping out CRC errors and thousands of FEC errors, but just noticed on the spectrum i have 2 lil strands on my U2 band hahaha, where did they come from lol

My downstream  has increased,  at one point it was 38 Mbps,  it's now at 54Mbps the highest it's ever been. Meanwhile my upstream has dropped from its best of around 12 Mbps to its current  4.5, just plain bizzare,  I wonder what I'd get if I was on a Huawei cab.

you can check on MDWS as ronski is on there :)

had a look and ronski has a similar issue, his US2 looks too weak.  However he does have some bitloading there just a very small amount compared to the surrounding DS tones.

I checked mine, and my bitloading in US1 is almost a mirror image of ronski's US1, however my US2 has properly populated bits and hence my max US sync speed.

I've attached two graphs, one the earliest I have from 5 September 2012 (connection went live on 20 August 2012), upstream was 11563kbps, and downstream was 53765kbps.
The other one is from today (54934/4270)

The modem I'm using does cause some loss on the upstream, but when I tried the HG612 a little while back I only gained about 1.5Mbps IIRC

Yes I'm on ECI, the lowest of the low when it comes to VDSL cabinets in this country

i just wish upstream power back off was stable :( it seems to pump way to much power making the upstream snr margin drop so so low :S

I wonder if it's because only one side, your modem is upping the power but the cabinet isn't.

PS There's no need to keep quoting the previous post, it just makes threads cluttered especially when viewed on a phone.

The upstream is only transmitted from one end, which is your modem.

I think what ronski meant the handshake stage might not be working right, whilst the modem transmits, the DSLAM can and does issue instructions on how it should transmit.
