Thanks guys
« on: October 23, 2006, 07:47:18 AM »

Im back and just had a quick scan of the forum..
I'd like to say thanks to you guys that have been keeping the forum going for me over the past few days - so thanks for that...  its most appreciated.

TBH Im finding it uncomfy to sit upright - so the desktop is out - and the laptop isnt much better either right now - guess I need one of those over the leg tray thingies.

Hospital food is terrible - and because I was on the very end ward I found twice that there was "no food left on the trolley".
24 hours without any food and all they could offer me was bleeding aparagus soup.........  ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
I ended up phoning my parents and asking them to bring me in a butty.
Next morning provided a similar tale - despite me having ordered a breakfast - I was told there was nothing left again.  The nurses had a fine time making toast for me and the woman in the bed opposite.

After waiting 2.5 hours for pain relief which should have been given.. and a few more *forgotten incidents*...  I decided I could look after myself better at home than they could.
Wont bore you with all the details - suffice to say Im not impressed.  :(

Great to have you back Kitz, but don't go overdoing things please. :)

I had a similar experience in hospital a few months ago. I was in for day surgery and had to arrive at 8am not having eaten or had anything to drink. Was told I was going to have a local anaesthetic but starvation was just to keep the option of a general open until the surgeon had assessed me. Fine I thought; waited a couple of hours to be seen, meanwhile other patients were being given cups of tea. Surgeon says we'll do it under local anaesthetic  Great I thought a cuppa and a biccie now! No such luck; taken to a side ward, "put this gown on", "nil by mouth" sign goes up!!! You've got the wrong bloke!!!! Finally got to theatre about 3pm and made my escape at 5pm. Never did a hospital cafe look so inviting!

Yes, it's great to have you back Kitz, and take it easy as Astral says.

Hospitals aren't all bad, but some are terrible. It's appalling that they can't even feed you properly, and attend to basic things like pain relief. Hopefully you can soon forget about it and get on with important things like being nice to us.

See? I stay away for just a few days and you end up in hospital!

A speedy recovery Kitz.

If you are up to it, there's a post on CA that could do with your input:

http://forums.computeractive.co.uk/thread.jspa?threadID=94097&tstart=0

Only if you are up to it though.
