:PIf your line held fastpath for over a year it should be fine to go really. It was likely a 1 off event that caused DLM to act. If you want to be cautious I would cap it a couple mb under your usual sync. The hard/aggressive cap is only needed to drop interleaving. You shouldn't need to keep it that low if you always had fastpath on uncapped sync.

I'll wait few days to see what the daily error rate is like and then will increase cap to 37k, it the errors will still be reasonable when will cap it at 40k (about 5mbps under my usual sync).

Since resync at 8:10 in the morning only 13 ES appeared.

Just a question.

Will my latency be increased again by 2-3ms as it used to be on VR900 due to different chipset or "two operating systems"? I am planning to use unlocked HG612 3B + TD-W9980 as a wireless router.

You will find if you want lower pings, it is best to reboot the (router) and get a new PPPoE session established. This can differ 2-3 ms at times. Don't reboot your modem as this may upset DLM.

What will happen is you'll be given a new IP address by your provider, each time you reboot. Disconnecting the ethernet cable to the WAN port may also work.

Keep trying until your happy and find your best results.

I manage to get ping as low at 9ms using this method, if you game the lower the better obviously.

Hope this helped!  :)

IP starting at 109.xx gives me the lowest latency (8-9ms) to 1st hop. Used to be 6-7ms with just W9980 connected. Seems like HG612 increases it by another 1-2ms due to packets going through 2 CPUs I assume.

Tracing route to bbc.co.uk [212.58.244.22]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1    <1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  192.168.1.2
  2     *        *        *     Request timed out.

  5    9 ms    9 ms    9 ms  core1-hu0-8-0-5.colindale.ukcore.bt.net [195.99.127.146]
  6    9 ms    9 ms    9 ms  62.172.103.13
  7    10 ms    9 ms    10 ms  194.74.65.42
  8     *        *        *     Request timed out.
  9     *        *        *     Request timed out.

 12    10 ms    10 ms    9 ms  212.58.244.22

Trace complete.

Was getting about 17ms to bbc when interleaved.

It's been just over 4 days since I get back on fastpath. Do I just simply log in to telnet and type in xdslcmd configure --maxDataRate 40000 10000 10000 to increase a little bit of speed. Does it force only 1 resync?

Below are the stats of 4 days of uptime. The highest error count seems to be between 4pm-8pm every day.

If you're resyncing anyway then I would recommend rebooting or powering off the modem completely. Disconnect the DSL cable so when you turn the modem back on it doesn't sync at its full rate. Login and set the maxdatarate, then reconnect the DSL cable.

Your ES numbers are only 5.4% of the upper Speed profile ES limit, so there's plenty room for a decent increase in the maxdatarate.

Yes just doing that will give one resync and reset the speed.   As soon as the resync has completed you may want to also then send the command "xdslcmd info --reset" which will just fully reset all the stats error counts to start from zero.

The alternative would be the 30 mins power off etc, but I doubt that is worth trouble now the DLM has forgiven you.

But it would still be 1 resync as I will be capping the sync to 40k via telnet so if I just type the command now it will automatically resync at the sync already capped?

What I meant is after entering this command now it will automatically be capped at that the entered sync? Won't it?

UPDATE:

Something bad happened and after entering the command and my connection only synced at 1668 kbps DS O_O So I entered it again and it seems to be fine now.

I can't seem to get higher than 28 mbps on speedtest (tried many different sites). It should be about 37-38mbps as my sync is 40k. Will try later in the night or in the morning. Possibly little congestion at evenings?

I came back to using W9980 as a modem&router. If my line was able to handle fast path for such a long time it should still be able to.

Anyone knows how to drop PPPoE session without dropping xDSL on W9980? I'd like to get my 109.xx IP back.

It may well be OK with the W9980 but it is possible that cross talk or other factors have recently changed things. It would much safer see the error rates with HG612 runing with no speed cap first.  The HG612 should not be causing your oddities and you could just power it down and up to see the errors at full sync.

I have seen error count with sync capped to 40k, around 20-35/h so I suspect they will be a little bit higher now.
