Solwise 4G-54RV router for LTE / 3G
« on: November 25, 2016, 04:09:11 AM »

A couple of quick questions

1. Does anyone know where I can get hold of some decent docs for this device? (All I have is a Quick Setup guide.)

2. And I have no idea where to get hold of updated firmware from either.

I think this uses some kind of Huawei ME909S module for the WAN side of things (if I have read the status info correctly).

3. The setup config for the device talks about a "dial string" which has to be set to the value "*99#" to make the router connect to 3G. (If memory serves.) I initially got this wrong and so wasted a lot of time. Does anyone know what this is all about? Is it ISP-specific? Is it different for 4G vs 3G? (And what about 4G-preferred service with 3G fallback capability?)

I have to ask the obvious question: can't Solwise provide that information?
