Now you know what the fault is did they give you a timetable for the work to commence to un-constipate those pairs and replace the section of faulty cable ?

they only found out today so they have to get a contractor in to do the work, they said they'd let me know the details, but glad to get some progress :)

I am sure Openreach was aware of the fault well before to-day, It would seem there are plenty of cable faults across the UK that need to fixed but OR and their third party network engineers seem to be overburdened with work load.

Though I will keep that email contact in case my issue extends to another 3 years  :(

Have sent sent Clive an email regarding are fault which effects 17 customers no point in resting on ones laurels or nothing will get done  :)

Ah sure they know what the fault is, its a bad HR fault from the top of disruption pole and cable to junction box I would say the fault has been there for over 6 years no wonder even from ADSL to VDSL the issue still remains.

Yeah that note is 9 months old but the fault has been there since my first day using dialup & broadband, engineer said the cable and DB box is the same age as the houses 1956 (60 years old)  :o

Engineers out at my pole today, put a block near the top

Speed test at 4.7Mb down from 8.6Mb though

Guys replaced the tail from the cable to the new DP on top of my pole yesterday

11.2Mb downstream at the moment!

Hopefully it will continue!
