Any experience with A&A on copper faults?
« on: October 19, 2016, 11:35:56 AM »

Hi,

Our existing PSTN provider is proving unable to get OR to fix our noisy phone line.   I was wondering about shifting the line to A&A who have by DSL, putting everything with the one provider.   When I spoke to them earlier they were quite scathing about the PSTN line, saying that it should be completely quiet, and if there's any noise at all it should be fixed.   I'm just wondering how others have found them in reality, can they really get OR to fix a line that sounds noisy but tests OK?

Thanks,  Tony S

Do you use the line for calls? If so you can't move it to AAISP as they will only provide a line for xDSL use only.

Cheers, we didn't move the line to A&A originally because we needed to keep the number, however we're now migrated to IP so don't need calls on the PSTN line.

My concern is that this sort of issue, noisy line that nevertheless passes line tests (engineer said PQT and Eclipse) may be one that simply won't be fixed, irrespective of the ISP involved.
