FTTP whinge
« on: September 30, 2016, 05:04:44 PM »

Hi :D

So... I'm about to move house again and once again, I see the exchange is enabled for FTTP but when I specify my actual postcode and house number I get punted to the FTTC page.

WTAF?

Does this product even exist? :P
I want a 5 ping in game!!!

There are I think 2 exchanges in the entire country that are FTTP only. All the others are bits of both.

The best route to a ping like that is moving to a Hyperoptic apartment block or emigration :)

Sorry to keep flogging a dead horse but...

Can I definitely not get FTTPoD? :D

I found this number in another thread: 0800 587 4787

Gonna give 'em a bell tomorrow.

I don't know what the costs are so probably no but I am that guy who usually goes to the lengths others will not... for the most trivial of things like getting a better ping :P

Do you want to pay £200 a month for three years on top of £1000+ for the install?

Quote

Minimum period

Infinity Fibre on Demand

£200 per month

£750 one off connection charge

To enable this Service to be provided additional work is required for BT to bring the Service from the BT street cabinet to the Customer's premises. Distance based charges as set out in Sub part 3 below will apply.

So, I rang 0800 587 4787 who said I must speak to Openreach direct for a mega quote.

He kindly gave me this number: 0800 032 3032

...which appears to be a black hole. Keeps asking for a DUNS ID, whatever that might be.
I assume it's the DUNS ID of registered CPs?

I did ask the first guy if they would speak to end users... :D

This is all a bit poor tbh.
Please get it sorted and consider keeping us donkeys, the potential customer updated so we don't run around all shapes making pointless phone calls, etc :D

Throwing a post out on ISPreview or whatever doesn't count btw :P

That price list does say BT Business Infinity, I think any company could have a DUNS ID. But it's not for home users.

So it is, missed that.

Well it's still 36 months but only £100 a month according to here which oldjim linked to earlier but I missed the yearly rental price.
