I posted a year back on pavement markings in my town centre
« on: September 15, 2016, 06:02:42 PM »

In due course a PCP and its fibre companion appeared, IIRC BDUK involved.

Both have vanished to my surprise. Seems strange.

I went for a rummage, to find the thread from last year in the hope that it might contain some forgotten information . . .  :-\

Check your personal message settings. There's an option to keep a copy of sent PMs, and I think it's unticked by default.

After corresponding with BS my guess is that they were moved. One peculiar observation is that most of what we call locally as the Admirals Estate is served by nearby cab 8. The FTTC infill is to be provided by cabs 28/29 located in the town centre, 1.6 km distant from cab 8.

Head gettinground time is needed.

This is where our records show Cab28 (Square with a X inside it) and the DSLAM (Blue circle), to be. Are we saying both items are no longer there at that exact location, Ren ??  :)

That's where they were, against a wall that abutted on to B3347, where one walked round from Meeting House Lane to Southampton Road. The nearest postcode in MHL is xxxx 1HB and in Southampton Road xxxx 1AY.

When wifey is recovered from hospital, I'll have an investigatory wander.

I look forward to your findings, Ren .................. I can entertain the notion that the DSLAM may need to be moved (Places of scientific interest, places of natural beauty) ..... but the original Cab would not have been subject to such scrutiny back in the day, and as such should be a permanent fixture ???

This is assuming that PCP28 isn't a new cab, that has been erected on an EO cable in order to provide FTTC services ??.

I had a wander around, via Google Street View, and can confirm that the images available, dated May 2016, do not show any pre-existing PCP with a fibre twin nor an AIO cabinet. What I could see of the block paving at that location, it did not show any evidence of being lifted and subsequently relaid.

I'm sure I took a look, last year, as a result of the earlier thread. It's rather confusing/puzzling!  ???
