Just on a trivial note, the shop where the outside scenes of Open All Hours were filmed was situated 2 streets away from where I grew up.

Ironically Q.  10. was originally, Which town are the scenes filmed in? A. Balby, Doncaster.
But i thought it was never really made clear in the series where they were, so changed it at the last minute.

Dave that info is on wikipedia, it correctly states it was filmed in Lister Avenue, Balby, Doncaster.  The house to the rear of the shop is no. 1 Scarth Avenue, where my best mate from primary school lived.

Oh yeah, and at the bottom of Scarth Avenue there's the factory where my Dad used to work, and where I worked for the summer between A-levels and university.
