History Continually Being Cleared On Google Chrome
« on: April 22, 2016, 05:26:47 PM »

Hi everyone,

I've just started experiencing this really odd issue. My history keeps continually clearing itself on Google Chrome. I am logged in to my Google Mail account but for some reason every so often my history is clearing itself.

Any ideas?

Ok, just to update everyone here.

I've just opened up YouTube in one tab, I then go to open a new tab and type "youtube" to then find when I hit enter that it returns the Google search result not the website!

I don't use Chrome myself, but isn't that how it's supposed to work?

No... it's supposed to keep your history until you use a program like CCleaner or remove the history itself...

Have you set the "Keep local data only until you quit your browser" option under Content Settings (chrome://settings/content)? Or the third option "Block sites from setting any data" which would explain what you are seeing. Have you got any extensions installed (chrome://extensions/) that might be interfering with the history?
