no idea where you see AAKL.7 as the latest

AAKL.14 was released  April 29, 2016. yes that's what I'm running. it can be downloaded on the link I posted
There's a thread here with detailed discussion on lots of different firmwares
It says it's for the 8324 but both versions are discussed.
I actually think they are identical firmwares for both 8324/8924. the additional 5ghz wireless card in the 8924 is the only difference between the 2 models
most users appear to be using AAKL.14

Indeed it's over 18 months old but does show as the latest, I contacted Zyxel support and they said they will look at getting this page changed as it confused me when you look at the FTP site and its way different.

I just updated to AAKL.14 and will see how I get on.
