blocking it on the router may be unreliable as the hostname or ip addresses could change anytime, doesnt iOS have an option to use a scheduled time only?

@Chrysalis - not that I'm aware. If anyone else knows otherwise please let me know.

Indeed, the value of the results from the DNS lookup are time-dependent as I said earlier and also location-dependent.

I'm very much open to more reliable, cleaner suggestions.
