The snapshots are saving at the due times. However, there were two consecutive "unable to log in to modem router" this p.m. No idea why as I was chomping.

That implies that the modem wasn't responding for some reason. There's unfortunately not much more I can say.

Eric to be honest I only mentioned it because others seemed to have their fixed, Ive been ignoring it for ages now as it does not seem to cause much bother.

DSLStats stopped recording at 00:05 this morning. I'm guessing it's associated with the new snapshot setting.

Setting in use:
Take auto snapshot every : 12  Hour(s)
Take first snapshot of day at: 23:55

I've now gone back to "snapshot timing linked to start of recording", I needed to stop and restart recording to get it going again.

@Eric, If you want any tests doing at this end I'll be more than happy to help.

Thanks for that offer. Was there anything related to this in the event log?

On further thought, that's not a good combination of settings. If the first snapshot of the day is at 23:55, then the "every 12 hours" part  won't apply, because there's less than 12 hours remaining in that day.

Not much in the log:
14 Aug 2016 22:25:41 Deleted snapshots in folder /home/pi/dslstats/2016-07-17
15 Aug 2016 09:41:18 Recording stopped
15 Aug 2016 09:41:21 Recording started

That would be me stopping and starting the recording.

Yes, I can see it wasn't a good setting combination, I was just trying to achieve one snapshot somewhere at the end of the day.
It may be relevant that I had sampling set to every 600 seconds. It was 600 seconds after the "first snapshot time" of 23:55 that DSLStats stopped recording.

There was nothing in the DSLStats GUI to indicate it was no longer recording. Just the output graph and text pages stopped being renewed at 0:05 am.

OK, I understand. I've got a fix for the 24:0:0:0 problem, and it seems quite likely that it will also fix your issue. I'm in the process of building a new version, which I hope to release in the next day or so.

Eric interestingly I now have not seen any timeouts since the two I had during the initial program start, this used to happen occasionally while running as well. So it looks very much like you have significantly improved things here for me as well.

I'm afraid I can't reproduce this (although I don't doubt that it's happening to you). Unless there's some repeatable sequence of events leading up to the  issue I don't think I'm going to be able to do anything.

It may not be of much interest but ideally I would like to able to update the webserver contents typically with one or two things once a minute but most things once an hour.  It is probably more trouble than it is worth to do this  but even if the snapshot files could also be saved to the web server as well as their dated folder than would meet the need (even if in my case if it is  only once a day).  I wondered over a cron job to shift files from the snapshot dated folder once a day but can't see how to know the folder name in a cron job.  Like others I don't actually use the webserver itself but upload the files to a web site.

I am definitely not expecting anything but I thought that the issue was worth mentioning.

As usual many thanks for all your careful work.

Thank you for your comments. :)

Adding extra options to the webserver would be an extra layer of complexity, which I'm trying to avoid for reasons of maintainability. I'd like to do all sorts of things, but limited time necessitates keeping it as simple as I can.

Is there a way to show the number of FECs, ES, CRCs, etc. in the "Stats" panel?
