Loss Of Connection - No Change In Line Stats
« on: June 17, 2016, 07:56:36 PM »

Hello,

After having a very stable connection for over 3 weeks, I lost connection last night but none of my line stats changed. Seems very strange, is this a loss of internet connection without loosing sync? Or, is it simply the connection time restarting again?

Possibly just one of those loss of PPPOE sessions from you Internet Service provider, when I was with BT I would see 1 - 2 of these a year and when they were doing scheduled maintenance after 12am then no access to the internet for a few hours

I have also experienced similar to what N*Star has recounted.

My CP is TalkTalk and my service is ADSL2 based. On two (widely spaced) occasions, gone midnight, the PPPoA session was abruptly terminated though my modem/router remained in a synchronised state with the exchange based MSAN.

Yeah, quite interesting, I would've not been happy to find no internet light this morning.

This I spot now and again on TalkTalk FTTC - I've previously spotted via A&A's status page it's TalkTalk doing a software update their end.

A&A use TalkTalk Wholesale provisioned the same way TalkTalk customers are, so their status pages are very helpful!

Sure TalkTalk Wholesale is provisioned in the same way as TalkTalk's own customers?

TalkTalk doesn't need a username and password for their own customers, my TTW line however certainly has one so that they can identify which wholesale customer of theirs I use.
