ReTx 0 = G.INP not switched on. ReTx 1 = G.INP switched on.

ReTx settings for Near end relate to upstream G.INP

ReTx settings at Far end relate to downstream G.INP

My upstream error totals do not get reset on a resync or modem reboot.

ReTx 0 = G.INP not switched on. ReTx 1 = G.INP switched on.

Thank you for confirming that :)

So, the absence of these figures in the first post would infer that the Draytek at that time was not fully g.inp compatible.

After loading of the new firmware, there is now support for g.inp, but retransmission is switched off.   -   Most likely due to Openreach engineer performing a DLM reset.

Draytek always claimed that the previous firmware was G.INP compatible, just that the web interface didn't report it. You had to look at the stats via telnet to see ReTX: http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-dsl-ginp and that always reported as 0 on the occasions I checked it. Since I started having the problems, the Draytek hasn't stayed online for more than 36 hours, so it'll be interesting to see if it improves with the new firmware. The modem code/firmware hasn't changed with the rest of the firmware though.

As for upstream/downstream attenuation, does this chart offer any insight:

Well, things seem to be stable with the Draytek router again now. A couple of days ago interleaving dropped off, so I'm back on fastpath for both up and down. I tried the talktalk router again temporarily, and it will still only sync at 0.5Mb US. Talktalk don't seem to have any explanation for this, other than an offer to try their latest beta firmware.

Well, all is good with my connection again, and has been for weeks. My modem stays synced for weeks at a time, as you'd expect it too on a good connection.

But, Talktalk have just slapped me with a charge for the Openreach engineer callout. How do I go about disputing this, since the fault wasn't with any of my equipment? Even though he tested the line as ok, neither of my modems would work properly. I don't know for sure if the problem was related to G.Inp or something else.
