Any point in having Infinity 2?
« on: May 31, 2016, 05:14:25 PM »

I have BT Infinity 2 and get about 37MBps download on the BTW speed checker. This is nominally inline with what can be expected from my location as there is about 600 metres of cable between the cabinet any my home.

My question, is simply, if I moved to Infinity 1, would I see much drop in my download speed?

No, your speed would not change - as your current speeds are lower than the maximum 52/55MB now possible under Infinity 1.

Thank you.  Have just downgraded to Infinity 1 at £10/month.

I wonder how many people are paying for infinity 2 but have no prospect of getting that speed? I know when I have haggled over my contract the sales team have been happy to offer it to me and indeed my current personalised offer shows it.

I just ran a speed test and ironically, I'm now getting 47Mbps on infinity 1, where as I was getting about 37Mbps on Infinity 2.

I'll just say that's a worthwhile result!  ;)
