Hi,
I'm running B030SP08 (webgui version) on my HG612 for a while and noticed that this fw hasn't been updated for a year or two. Have the updates been stopped by Openreach? A major bug in this fw is that the webgui stats are skewed, eg downstream SNR of 12 & 4.2 billion HEC errors!!! Therefore a right old faff having to go to wincmd and typing the various commands to access simple line stats...

Considering the modem as originally supplied by BT was locked why would they go to the trouble of fixing something nobody was ever meant to see, these errors have always been there through the various firmware revisions.

As for seeing the stats just use either HG612 Stats or DSL Stats.

Please use the code tags for stats quotes,  which makes the forum much easier to use especially on phones and tablets, thank.

Apologies, corrected the text.

But that's my question, the webgui was intended to be viewed by someone (ok maybe not Joe Public) so find it strange why the webgui errors haven't been fixed in all the various iterations of the fw.

As ronski said, the GUI wasn't ever intended to be seen by anyone and is locked down.  Openreach will have their own methods obtaining line stats (eg a JDSU) and figures reported to the DSLAM are done at a much lower level - ie the same figures you get from telnet commands that is used by the likes of HG612stats and DSLstats.

The only reason you do get access to the GUI is through the likes of Asbo and HowlingWolf making hacked versions available..  but their main priority was making it so that HG612stats and DSLstats will work and we can get some sort of line stats.  afaik the last time BT did an update was to make the HG612 work with G.INP.
