Still No Fibre Plans
« on: May 11, 2016, 11:31:59 AM »

My home exchange CMKING in South Birmingham has after so many years got no FTTC/P rollout planned for it yet 'all' neighbouring exchanges have had there rollouts completed probably over 2 years ago now....

I could understand it being missed out in the early stages but would of thought something would have been do e by now.

The only fibre relsted sctivity for this exchange is a cabinet that was adopted by a neighbouring exchange 'Wythall' under the BDUK Worcestshire projects.

I know for one where I loved the ADSL wasnt great, it was an estate of many thousand occupants woth speeds vary between 6-1mb.... Half the estate was doomed to ~3mb service...

Ok, sure Virgin Media is an option for everybody in the area so its not like we where stuck in the dark ages but still so is the rest of South Birmingham and they got a BT funded rollout.

Can anyone shine some light on why this area of plenty has gone untouched.
