A quick google gives this http://www.hwupgrade.it/forum/showthread.php?p=43621753

Perhaps you would be so kind as to provide an English synopsis, please?

I don't think that you can swap dsl driver firmware between those intended for 63168 and those for 6368 chipset devices.  I tried it just got fatal errors - probably not surprising.   I assume the driver firmware you have is for a 63168 driver, I think the F in the version signifies that -- I can't find my link to Broadcom dsl driver naming.  On the  63168 devices the difference between drivers seems small but others may dissagree.   Some 63168 devices such as the HG635 have an 037 driver which uses a different xdslcmd and some other different associated files. For those a swap would need all the new components and a firmware recompile. There have however been some report of 63168 device dsl driver swaps in devices outside the UK.

Thank you Les.

Yes, indeed, it is the driver firmware for the Broadcom 63168 devices.

No probs..

Might risk it over the weekend with the 8800nl on this version and see what happens.. my line does seem to be a bit fussy..

I wouldn't call this the driver, adsl_phy.bin is the DSL firmware, the kernel module, usually a file called adsldd.ko, is the driver.
