Linksys WRT54GS As A Outside WiFi Access Point.
« on: April 28, 2016, 04:12:05 PM »

I have a old WRT54GS that I used for an internal Ethernet cable fed 'WiFi access point' only, it has Two removable aerials and I was thinking of using one, waterproof it and mounting it on my outside gable mounted TV and FM aerial mast, The top of the mast is about 2 metre above the ridge, mounting the WRT54GS in side and using some coax cable to connect the two.
I want to improve the WiFi coverage all over my large garden as it has one or two dead area's at the moment.

With the Bipolar aerial it should radiate to all my garden as the house is in the center of the half acre garden.

Any comments please ? will it work ?
