Are you measuring the distance between PCP and DSLAM twice there, WWW?

Yes. But legitimately.

Obviously the distance relevant to VDSL2 attenuation is the one from FTTC cabinet to the house, via the PCP.

In N0STIE's case, the shortest routes take the copper from the FTTC cabinet to the PCP cabinet, and then back towards, and past, the FTTC cabinet again.

So the distance between PCP and DSLAM does get measured twice, but only because the copper covers the distance twice.
