Understandable,  I don't suppose either are in a conduit or ducting?
Some of it, that would be too easy. :(

Another suggestion would be to use a pair of Killostream NTU7s. (Easily found on eBay.)

I recall reading somewhere that it is possible to re-configure those devices (via an internal jumper selection or DIP switch) to act as the master device. With one as master and the other as slave, just connect the two NTU7s back-to-back over the first of the two pairs and use the second pair for telephony purposes.

A pair of Planet VC-201A media converters (or similar) would be my suggestion.

Yes they look just right so, if you could lend me £787.22 for a pair would be nice, please send cheque in the post  ;D

A pair for $99, via Amazon.

(I'm puzzled with the price of £787-22 for a pair.  ???  Where did you see that sum quoted, please?  :-\  )

Well you need 2 pairs for 10/100mbps Ethernet and 1 pair for telephone, so your going to have to perform witchcraft.

Only thing I can think of to get Ethernet there is homeplugs.

As I have no knowledge of those devices, I am unable comment.

At the end of the day, it might just be best to thread a length of Cat5e cable through a length of garden hose and then bury it along the property boundary.

Before you proceed with the garden hose idea, check out post #5 on this thread:-

http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,13812.msg260226.html#msg260226

It will be WELL worth your while!!

(The other thing I didn't mention on that post is that it has a totally smooth inner wall - no ridges which are a pain when pushing rods/cables through!)

HTH ;)

Another tip is to use a vacuum cleaner to suck a piece of string through, and it can even work with cables with a bit of cotton wool tied on the end.

Well, the way 'yoof' speak nowadays, 'sick' advice is much better than that which 'sucks'!

@Ronski, like the idea of 'hoovering' a bit of string through a tube (not sure if my old upright is quite the tool for the job though).

@z1ts, thanks for the tip about MDPE water pipe - I'll have to remember that one.

Update.

I tried using this cable/s for Ethernet only and being the first section which goes to my garage was 4 core screened to def 10 was UN-suitable for Ethernet.  :'(

So now the cable is used for Phones for my garage and workshop.

The tip for using blue water pipe I knew about as I used yellow gas pipe to run the 240v to my workshop with a   'Electric cable' marker around it .

Both the above type of pipe can be got from 'Freecycle' free  :)
