BT Launch BTInfinity 1 Service with Broadband Speeds of up 52Mbps

Quote
Internet provider BT has today replaced their old Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC / VDSL) based 38Mbps BTInfinity 1 broadband service with a new up to 52Mbps package speed, which they brag is “a faster standard fibre service” than you can get from Sky Broadband, TalkTalk or Virgin Media.

The eagle eyed among you will no doubt note that the new service is based off Openreach’s (BT) new and slightly more expensive 55Mbps (10Mbps upload) FTTC product profile, which was announced at the end of 2015 and launched during January 2016.

Yes. And I also hope for a DLM reset to remove a banded speed profile.

What were the details, is there a charge or just need to re-contract at existing price?

It's exactly the same contract just at a different speed, we did manage to get an offer the other month so yes we pay a few more pounds a month now than we used to. But, as far as I'm aware it's £25/month + £17.99 line rental. I didn't ask because I was confirming the order which I'd placed online.

So can I have my speed upgraded within the same contract without extending it for another 18 months? My contract ends in 2 months, by the end of June.

It's a new contract for 12 months so yes you will have to be with BT for another 12 months but there is no charge.

But do you have to pay £25.00 + £17.99 or can you use kitz cheap link to make it £12.50 as it is new contract, not sure if it counts as a new customer.
