AT LAST !!!

FTTC has come to UB land  :dance: :silly: After many years of 2mb(except for a brief encounter with South Yorkshire Digital Region Fibre broadband) BT have finally enabled my exchange and my cabinet is now live.So I contacted the nice people at A&A isp to move me over from ADSL to FTTC.
I am now awaiting them to weave their magic and get me up and running.

As Kitz and Roseway know I have suffered many problems over the years but they (and others) have helped me tremendously to understand my connection and help me when I had problems.

For FTTC, A&A have been taking BT HG612s wherever poss, otherwise zyxel modem-routers. Of course being AA, it has to be a router that speaks IPv6. I bought my Firebrick router from them, it wasn't a freebie.

Openreach have stopped providing their own modems on installs.

As Weaver says A&A offer to sell you a ZyXEL VMG1312-B modem instead

The BIG question is how far are you from your cab? Hopefully it's closer than the exchange looking at your ADSL speed  :-\

Not too far,about 200m to walk too it.

My order is being held up as BT have a tag on my line but I'm on TalkTalk backhaul so the tag shouldn't be there,AA staff are pushing daily to get it removed,apparently 5 working days is the time scale to remove it then it can be escalated.
Anyway the nice lady at AA is keeping me updated via email and also on my user profile.  :fingers:


Edit.......Sorry for posting in the wrong section,should know better at my age. :blush:  :D

It may be that some kitizens will be able to help interpret some of the cryptic messages that clueless comes up with during the migration process, especially as some come direct from BT.
