It spooks me when I'm watching TV and the speakers start 'morsing' from my mobile, but no call comes through.

Is big brother watching my movements ?  :scare:

No Big Brother Spy, it is just that if the signal from a cell phone mast becomes weak for anyone of several reasons. Then your phone tries to find a stronger signal by transmitting a test signal hoping that another mast will pick it up and return the call so that it can decide which is stronger and which to stay with.

This interference is noticable when travelling on a motorway if your phone is near the car radio or its speakers. Every few miles your phone checks for a signal from another mast as the one it is linked with gets further away and thus the signal gets weaker.
