BT Router behind my ASUS router. Help.
« on: March 11, 2016, 12:56:33 PM »

I've got a ASUS router and the BT connected up and running behind my ASUS.

OR modem> ASUS> LAN > BT hh5

So the BT router is static and dhcp is turned off as well as the firewall.

The routing rule i set on the ASUS see above.
ASUS is (192.168.1.250) BT static (192.168.1.177). I have Internet access via the BT hub and the network. Does the traffic on the BT router run through the ASUS so it uses the ASUS firewall? Please can someone explain how the traffic moves now that I've done this. What is the metric? In the routing rules.

Are you using a LAN port on the  HH5 or the WAN port?

So the HH5 is just a WAP. It will be behind the firewall on the Asus like the rest of your devices and shouldn't need any routing routes defined.

Is there any advantage doing it the way I set it up in terms of speed. Better routing of data?

All you are doing is improving wireless coverage, nothing else.
