BT Roadworks Application
« on: March 08, 2016, 07:59:53 PM »

Hi, BT has recently put an application for a road closure outside my home, it says:
"Traffic management required for safe access to underground structure for works to provide new fibre connection in existing duct. Surveyed by Aplant with recommendation of OFF PEAK working using A ROAD CLOSURE. Works to take place between 09:30 hrs and 15:30hrs.Survey reference: 233-S002114" What does this mean? I am nowhere near the FTTC cabinet, and that road certainly doesn't run anywhere else that would require a fibre connection.

could be a lot of different things. Most likely is either a new cabinet is planned somewhere and the fibre needs to go down the duct outside your place, or someone further up the road from you is getting something fibre related installed (perhaps a business after a leased fibre line?)
