REIN - Split re Dying gasp (again)
« on: March 04, 2016, 05:39:25 PM »

I put above "I think after his 5hrs of testing the interleving had gone to 64 down 8 up
then went to 32 / 4 soon to 8 / 2 now it's gone to fast track 1 / 1
"

My isp just phone about on going 'REIN' investigation on my line and we talked about this graph below.

He said they did not do a copper line test (at 18.14) so he thinks it was the REIN team at the exchange doing one and also changing my target SRN Margin from 9db back to 6db and putting me on fast track interleaving 1/1.

Other things to note on that graph at about 17.30 when it starts to get dark the drop in the downstream
That's what the REIN team are looking into.

Well, I have seen mention of REIN & SHINE regarding broadband issues.

I think my connection has been affected by SNOW today, my car certainly was.
Do Openreach have a team of SNOW engineers at hand to dig me out?  ;)

I though that SNOW was classified under the PEIN heading?  :D

Here's a good link on the subjects of REIN, SHINE & PEIN.  ;)

@Bald_Eagle.   Yes I saw that your region had quite a scattering this morning in some areas.

Off topic & I don't wish to hijack this thread, but..............

Yes. It is rather a pein when that happens  ::)

Seriously though, I have been wondering for a while about what is happening to my SNRM (see attached).

Maybe some of that is PEIN, but I have no idea where it is coming from (yet).

There is a bit of a pattern showing DS SNRM reductions from around 16:00 each day (someone fairly nearby arriving home from School maybe???), but the frequent downward US spikes?

Perhaps we could split off the existing REIN discussion?
