Just thought I would share this with any one who may be interested.
How to copy the text on a page from a site that is copy protected.

Probably from time-to-time we have all come across a page that we would like to just copy the text from for future use and it will not let you copy it.

The answer is, just click:
File > Send > Page by E_Mail...

Then just select yourself to E-mail it to, from then on you can just select the text you want to copy and keep.
Obviously it 's always a nice gesture to keep the original authors name on the page for full credit.

Unfortunately I only use IE 6 & 7 which both have the Send option, in XP and Vista.

Now you mention it I do recall some time back commenting on FF not having a Send option.
(although at the time I was referring to "Send Shortcut to Desktop")

Do you have a "Print to File" option. (I don't)
or
Save As... , then save it as a text file. Again this works with IE.

I don't think much of these scripts that block right click or other actions, since they can be defeated anyway by viewing the source code to get hold of text or a image/content URL.

Sometimes the anti-right click or copy protection only works in IE, other times in more than one browser depending on script used.

I usually view the source from the browser menu, and either find what I want to copy the whole lot into a file.

another good way of grabbing an image is to use the 'snipping tool' in vista.

you can grab any part of the screen as a JPG.

Most "protected" pages will allow you to highlight text, so normally, you can highlight the text, and instead of right-clicking for the menu, just press Ctrl+C to copy it! Or under the Edit menu, choose Copy.

I find that works for me most of the time.

No, it's not, unless you run it through some OCR software!!
