When Do You Restart Your PC?
« on: February 27, 2016, 11:06:04 AM »

Hello everyone!

When do you restart your PC?

After uninstalling a program and used CCleaner to remove all the rubbish left behind, I restart. Do you do the same? Do you restart after doing a mass file deletion?

No, certainly not. There's no reason to.

Nope  I seldom reboot mine.
The only time mine gets booted is after a windows update or if a software install needs it.  ....   or Zoe jumps on top of the PC and lands on the off switch!

Current uptime is 26:15:04:05

Which coincides with this:   Updates were installed 30/1/2016 at 21:49

I have a desktop and two laptops, well 3 if you count my wife's. Only one of the laptops runs Windows (7 actually) and it runs my weather station, I never do updates on it and only reboot if it crashes otherwise it is up 24x7. The other PCs run Linux and the two Linux laptops are hibernated when not in use again only rebooted if they crash (they never need a restart if updated unless the kernel is updated and then only rebooted when convenient). The Linux desktop is normally shutdown when not in use so I guess that is booted about once sometimes twice per day when I need to use it. It could be hibernated but I guess it is a habit to close it down each time.

Yes, I try not to reboot mine but I sometimes do after a reinstall of a program.

Oh nice, it looks like you have Ken True's template in there.

Yes it is but quite highly modified to allow me to use it with my site design.

Yes, I used to use the whole template supplied by him and I started adding more things to it but then it became a massive part of my life so I had to drop that and go back to the basic HTML pages that Cumulus (the weather software I use) and edit those to my liking instead.
