Browser url spoof check
« on: March 25, 2008, 11:12:14 PM »

Evening all
I was scanning through the main Kitz site looking at all the new stuff (I am amazed at the amount of work you do Kitz.) and stumbled on the Browser url spoof check.  I have been using Firefox for a week or two now and clicking on the test link suggests I need Win XP update KB832894. If I revert to IE6 it seems to give the OK. Since I have XP SP2 I think that is what it should say. All the experts are probably laughing fit to bust now but I was a bit concerned initially and this posting is just to gently suggest a warning be included that idiots like me should note that browsers other than IE will give misleading results. What does the team think?

I intend no criticism as I think the site is an amazing collection of information on MaxDSL and everything that implies and the Forum is the most helpful and friendly you could wish for. Many thanks for all the info, Kitz.

Hi tony

Thanks for the comments.

The page was originally done a few years back - hence why some of it now perhaps seemed a bit odd.
I'd let it there cause it still pulls up the odd one now and again.
In fact we discovered that the new safari browser was vulnerable using that - before it even hit the headlines.
With a bit of hindsite eh?  :-\

Not at all - quite right to bring it to attention - Page updated with new info

Thanks. :)
