Just had an Invalid Floating Point error on DSLstats v5.7.1. Just restarted DSLstats v5.7.1 and it's uploading to MDWS again now.

I enabled traffic monitoring and since then .7.1 has been unstable and crashing.

I had it running on a Raspberry Pi for about 24 hours with no issues, and I'm currently running on a Windows 8.1 machine (8 hours so far with no issues). In both cases I enabled all the options in "Items to Monitor" and set it to upload to MDWS. All other options are at their defaults. In the case of the Windows version, I cleared out every remnant of previous installations, downloaded v5.7.1 from my website, and set it up from scratch.

I've never been able to reproduce these floating point issues and I'm running out of ideas. Over the next few days I'll try some more experiments, but this is going to take time. In the meantime, please remember that the computer running DSLstats must connect to your router via ethernet, not WiFi, and the downloaded files must be installed in a directory where you have unrestricted read/write access. The location of the configuration files must also be a directory where you have unrestricted read/write access.

Hi

I updated mine to 7.1 about 10am this morning and like roseway, have all monitoring options ticked, and as yet have nut seen this issue

The computer running dslstats, is Windows 7 64 bit, over wifi

The only thing I may have done differently, was to copy the whole of 5.7.1 into its own directory and not overwrite 5.6.

I hope that helps

Many thanks

John

It would be interesting to know if you use the 24 hour averages or the modem/router uptime averages. Using 24 hour averages for me fixes the problem - its been months since I saw one.

The PC is set to 24 hour averages the RPi was set to Modem/Router uptime averages but I changed that yesterday evening before 24 hours had lapsed, so the RPi is set to 24 hour averages.

@tbailey2: The occasional divide by zero error has been bugging me for a long time, as I've never been able to reproduce it and haven't been able to locate a cause. The best suggestion so far seems to be to set the error averages to the 24 hour setting, not the modem uptime setting, and this seems to have fixed (or at least alleviated) the issue.
I'm not monitoring them....

I've looked into this, and most of the code which processes the averages is still run, even if you've disabled the display of the values. The default position is to display modem uptime averages. Therefore I suggest that you temporarily enable the averages display, set the choice to 24-hour averages, then disable the display again (if you don't want it).

There was another alert waiting from some time back so have done as you suggested and disabled it again....

Thanks

Have taken the step to revert back to v5.6 on the RPi to many odd gaps in my upload and DSLstats GUI freezing for 8 minute, will see how it looks after 24 hours with the older version.
