Looks like it has started again. Constantly uploading as you can see its not coming from any of the devices listed. I have tried disconnecting all devices and its still uploading.

The image that you have provided relates to the Asus RT-AC68U router and not to the Huawei HG612 modem.

There is absolutely no way that the Asus router can monitor the link between the HG612 modem and the DSLAM, with which the latter is synchronised.

Yeah the router is saying something is sending 7-8mbps constantly, as soon as i unplug the modem it stops. Router reporting the traffic is coming from the modems mac address, i reset modem to factory defaults and it stopped for a few days, now its back. Haven't modified any modem settings

I think it would be possible for software running in the HG612 firmware to connect to the Internet via your router? But then you also said it doesn't happen when you're out of the house and not using the Internet, which would suggest it's not the HG612.

Thats what i don't understand, i have disconnected every device except the modem and it still says its uploading. It seems once it stops its stays stopped until something is active on the network and starts it off again

It seems when anything is active on network the modem constantly uploads gbs of data. Attached pic showing traffic stats for modem mac and macs attached to ethernet ports.
Viewing all attached devices upload doesnt come anywhere near what the router is reporting for the modem.. I thought it was maybe a bug where traffic from all devices was appearing to come from modem but its not the case

I agree with this.

xus: could you tell us what your upload/download sync speeds are? Also, assuming you have QOS enabled in the HG612, what happens if you disable it?

I will re-iterate one sentence that I posted previously, above --

There is absolutely no way that the Asus router can monitor the link between the HG612 modem and the DSLAM, with which the latter is synchronised.

Neither of the latter two images that you have posted (in reply #20) show details of the link between the modem and the DSLAM.

Is the LAN2 port of the modem connected to a LAN port on the ASUS in addition to LAN1 of the modem connected to the WAN port of the ASUS?

So presumably if you disconnect LAN2 on the modem the uploads stop.

Have you disabled the wireless on the Asus to ensure nothing is connecting wirelessly?

All traffic will stop regardless if you disconnect the WAN, there is nowhere for it to go.
