I recomend Eclipse .
« on: February 17, 2016, 12:47:49 AM »

Tell them TICKMIKE  sent you and you should get a good deal with them.  :)

I'm with Eclipse business  NOT residential customer.

http://www.eclipse.net.uk/products/connect/broadband/

I'm on a ADSL2 long line, they have a uk Technical service which is very good , it takes them about 4 sec to answer the phone  :o.

Eclipse get a lot of awards for there services.

I been with them for years, I can not fault them ( although in my case I do have some local problems on my line which they are looking into with me).

Reliable, no problem with contention, free usage after 11 pm  :)

I pay about £17 for my ADSL2, free phone calls, up to 100 email address's, free uk domain name also free Eclipse domain name.

I still have my BT line but get free phone calls from Eclipse with my package.

And throttled it would seem  http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/eclipse/t/4459870-all-residential-customers-now-throttled.html

Sounds to me like it's one to avoid should you actually want to use your connection

According to their own web site they still throttle most of their business products , and throttle P2P to 512kbps in this day and age  is a bit of a joke imo, as is offering FTTC services that have a low usage cap totally pointless

I was an Eclipse customer on residential until August 2015 and have now moved to Zen. On Eclipse the throttling was absolutely true, but I only noticed it after pestering them about my connection dropping to 50% speed at around 4PM every day. Once they told me they had fixed it, then I noticed the throttling. On Zen now and have never suffered a single issue that was their fault. Most of the issues have been with my own router, and I am currently in the process of looking for a replacement. My advice is to avoid Eclipse (or KCOM as they are now known) as they didn't even inform us of this traffic shaping, which in my mind suggests a breach of contract terms.
