CRC errors
« on: February 01, 2016, 03:48:56 PM »

MDWS S.Step

Massive random CRC errors at 15:35 1/2/16 like over 4,500 a minute any idea on what could cause something like this, it then connected at like half speed but then immediately went back up to normal.

Line attenuation went up to 21.2 when it was synced at half speed, bridge tap???

SNR:

HLog: Has changed

QLN: Has changed

And this is what happened to connection speed

Perhaps there was some form of activity at the PCP or its fibre twin?

Difficult to say. In fact I'm not sure what is happening with your circuit . . . MDWS informs me that you have stopped uploading data as from 1737 hours today (Feb 1st 2016).

Edited to add: It appears that you have only uploaded data to the MDWS server for 14.6 hours out of the last 24 hours.  :-\

Ah, that explains it.

That would be a very good idea.

I'm going for the extreme option of using a UPS to power the Rasberry Pi and the HG612, and then I wait for a power cut to see just how high I can sync.....

Then I cry when the power comes on and knocks it off instantly.

Or just use a spare lead-acid car battery that you have put by for a "rainy day" (something that sheddyian might do) and have the battery trickle charged when the AC mains is present.  :D

Unfortunately a car battery wouldn't be approved by the "boss" needs to be neat and tidy so to speak.
