At long last we get a mobile phone signal in our house with out going outside and up the hill. 
All we had to do was contact EE on 150 on your phone (that's if you get a signal  ) or on the free phone number 0800 0790 134 and tell them you do not get a signal at home / office etc. they ask a few questions and do some checks and if like us they send you a free signal box a 'Cisco USC 3331'

It's about the size of a small WiFi router and mains powered via a 5v adapter and it plugs into your House LAN or router, it sets it's self up with a VPN back to EE servers,(I did not have to open any ports on my hardware firewall )   at this stage you phone up the technical department at .

If you're on an Orange plan call 0800 079 0275
If you're on a T-Mobile plan call 0800 956 3146
If you're on an EE plan call 0800 956 6141

And hopefully it works and you can use you phone .

I used to use Suresignal boxes with my Vodafone connection. They worked but were problematic, randomly dropping connections and needing frequent resets. But the biggest problem was they were only 3G.

However, since Vodafone got wifi calling working I've been able to scrap the Suresignal boxes. Wifi calling works anywhere I can get wifi, not just at home but on the train for example.

Yes if your have the right type of phone like my daughter has an iphone 6 but on my wife's 4  and my ancient Samsung

Same here, had it for a couple of years now. Although Three have recently done some work to improve reception in the local area - still no 4G, but now a considerably increased 3G signal strength.
