Confusion

I updated from v7 to v10 before Christmas and decided it was about time to remove windows.old - all 20GB of it.
Looking at the site
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/How-do-I-remove-the-Windows-old-folder
I'm not sure if the awful warnings apply since although it is in the Win10 section it seems to be about update TO win 7 ?!!!!
( I don't see how two O.S. can operate in the same partition anyway)
Anybody else met problems recovering all that HD space ?

I've not looked in to this issue a lot as I have quite a lot of HD space. But I did notice when I briefly looked is I couldnt see my old W7 OS either.

It seems that the Automatic update can be slow as it happens in spare time.
As I don't have the computer on 168 hrs/week the Windows.old folder just got less and now its gone !
Gratifyingly the time for an AV scan is down from 75 mins to 35.
