Stolen Hardware
« on: January 02, 2016, 04:34:28 AM »

Due to a recent theft, I have lost two wireless access points: a ZyXel NWA3560-N and a TP-Link TL-WA7510N. If you see any being offered for sale, please let me know.

The moron who stole them is in Skye, or possibly in Perth and the police are involved. Those of you who have access to Facebook could be particularly helpful here as I am guessing that a FB local advert is a possibility, for a number of reasons, but the geographic origin of a claimed seller can't be certain.

Hopefully this should be concluded quickly though, because it is likely that the police will be able to recover the stolen kit.

Your help would be very much appreciated.

I forgot to point out that I know who the thief is, but he almost certainly will need help from an accomplice in selling them on, so I don't know where a likely sale will come from. It won't be from a reputable business obviously, not from someone who would not want to handle obviously stolen goods.

I could name the thief, but this is likely to be very unhelpful to you as he is not likely to be the claimed seller.

The idiot selling them may well think they are routers, I should point out, so they may be mis-advertised.

I will of course post in this thread should the kit be recovered, which is pretty likely thanks to local police being really brilliant and very kind to me.

Hopefully as you know who the theif is the police can apprehend him with the items still in his possession pretty quickly.

You'd think being where you are in the middle of nowhere you'd be pretty safe from this sort of thing.

Incomers once again are the problem. (I'm one of course :-) )
