DSL cable not connected, so how can this happen?
« on: December 31, 2015, 12:59:54 PM »

Must be me and the aging brain, surely?

This morning while doing some bits and pieces, the cable from the phone wall socket got removed from the router. I noticed but being interrupted did not plug back in straightway. Later I returned to find wife was listening to internet radio despite the above situation.

I thought that could not happen! :-\

Does your modem have 3g backup?
Was you wife listening on her phone using the mobile data connection?

I don’t think that modem has 3g backup, so I’m baffled - but interested in hearing the answer.

Confused by that, as neither of use data facility of our phones; no needs and expensive on PAYG.

She's more ignorant than I. She wouldn't dare. I realise the neighbour's wifi possibility, but if I used a "sniffer" before, hopefully correctly, there has been no evidence of near unsecured connections.

Just a thought - probably completely wrong...

Does the internet radio have a generous buffer which would cover a 5 or 10 minute break?
