Author Topic: First run of Line Stats - could do with thoughts from the more experienced  (Read 3309 times)

So got my first set of line stats, with the output from the DSLstats prog stats tab below (thank you to whomever spent time and effort providing the DSLstats software by the way).  My initial thoughts based on what I have managed to read-up on so far are:

I seem to have a pretty noisy line - D = 1123 d/s - can that be right, as its seems seriously high Interleave depth?!
There are a very high number of FECs and CRCs - did this lead to the LOS?
Despite being on a Huawei cabinet - at least as far as my investigations can tell - and Howlingwolf's webgui fw (unlocked HG612) G.INP isn't switched on.
What is Retrain Reason = 1, as I haven't managed to find anything to explain what that is?

Would really appreciate any thoughts/comments from the experienced folk on here with the knowledge to give me some pointers as to what I should be monitoring/looking out for, thanks  :)

Edit : just had a read through the similar post from Rickster, maybe I'm not on a Huawei cabinet after all.  Another daft laddie question but do I need to reboot the HG612, or router, or both?  (sorry, I know there's a fair bit I need to learn)

Your line shows us your on a 40/10 fttc service with spare snrm left over to get the 80/20 service as seen from your Max Attainable rate 70900 kbps though I'm looking at your downstream sync rate it is showing 34998 kbps it should be showing a DS sync rate of 39998 or 40000 kbps thats something to look into.

Your line is interleaved and no sign of G.INP an ECI cabinet user ? if your line was stable with low errored seconds per day you should be on the so called fastpath profile interleaved depth OFF 0

The Retrain reason 1 from MDWS is known as Remote Defect Indicator/DLM this is normal if your line is going though the process of DLM retraining after say a fault with high errored seconds sometimes the RDI 1 comes when the SNRM go's below 4.5 to 3.0 dB or even for no reason at all  :-\

You have the HG612 unlocked lets get some 24 hours stats from your line using DSLstats or HG612_Modem_stats

It's quite easy to find out which type of cabinet you're on, Huawei or ECI http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/cabinet-lookup.htm

Thanks folks, bit of work to do methinks.

@Dray yes, used the tools to check, before getting the HG612  and it definitely reported a Huawei cabinet.

I'm on the phone atm, so having to "fly-by-tapatalk"

NewtronStar - no date at the end but it was the latest version from H'wolf's mega downoad link.

Dray - yep, version numbers match (see attached)

Thanks

Edit : I'll pick this up again in a few days, as you folks have better things to do this close to the festive break.  Thank you for the replies - and Merry Xmas!

You may find that G.INP takes a couple of weeks to come on.

Merry Christmas :)
