I'm running DSL stats v5.6

The following email is hitting my inbox every 5 mins:

This is an automatic alert message and is sent to you every 5 minutes whilst the problem exists. If you only see it very intermittently you can ignore it

Please note that you are currently uploading modem log files with the data fields filled with zeros. Please try closing down and restarting your upload program to fix this (you may also need to stop the Windows Process that has been created before restarting).

If this does not work, first check you are using the latest version and upgrade if out of date. Then, if necessary, post a request for help on the MyDSLWebStats thread on Kitz.

So,

I've closed down and restarted the program (and the box), I'm running Linux Mint, and the latest version of DSLstats.

Recorded local stats are fine. Any ideas what to do next?

Quick update.

This appears to have been happening intermittently since 03/11 1820 until 2250 then again on the 5/11, 7/11 and now today. Each time for a period of a few hours then stops.

It's fine now but would be interested in understanding the cause.

You appear to be using HG612_Modem_Stats for uploading, not DSLstats. Are you possibly running both programs at the same time on different machines?

I've only got DSLstats running on this box. I did use HG612_Modem_Stats for a while but it isn’t / shouldn’t be running now.

However, there's an old Windows box in the house, I'll go check that and see if anything is running there.

Hi

Just run a debug and you have both stats programs uploading at the same time:

HG612 Modem Stats V 5.0.0.3 23/03/2015 at 20 secs past hour

DSLstats_L64 V5.6 at 11 secs past hour

Normally you would also be getting duplicate upload mails every minute as well but they are currently turned off due to the number of users whose clocks are still on summer time...

Edit: I've now turned e-mails for this back on .... And you might also notice that the listing of which program you are uploading with at the bottom right of the graphs keeps changing from DSLstats to HG612 Modem Stats and back....

Cant find a box with HG612 stats running on it, but my quest continues. Very weird one.

Check your Windows Processes for a running instance you can kill and also Task Scheduler to see if it's got orphaned somehow....

By the sounds of it, it's running on a PC that is occasionally used, which will tie in with times you get the emails. Remember that HG612_stats only runs for a couple of seconds every minute (so you won't see a process constantly running), and is triggered by a scheduled task, so check in task scheduler.

Well they are still uploading every minute 5 seconds apart, DSLstats occasionally misses one though for some reason...

I meant to thank you guys and let you know I found the culprit. My step son had an old Windows laptop which he started using occasionally, recently. Once identified I killed the scheduled task and all was good.
