using tg582 with bt fibre modem
« on: November 18, 2015, 01:30:48 PM »

I'm getting fibre connected in about 10 days now that my local box is upgraded. To make things easy I have paid for the postage on the Hub zero that everyone decries and it will arrive soon. I see that the 582 is useable as well to connect to the BT modem but I assume some setting up is required to turn one of the ports into an input from the modem. The 582 was supplied by Plusnet under a similar "free" deal when I went to ADSL2+. If I can do the necessary configuration for this I would then be able to join the crowd uploading to MyDslWebStats and have a spare router. Can someone guide me or is it obvious on the 582 config pages?

You need to flash the 10.2.5.2 FO firmware, then you can easily configure the router for ADSL or FTTC connections.

As for MyDslWebStats, it depends on which type of Openreach modem you get, the Huawei HG612 is easier to unlock and get stats from.

You need to flash the 10.2.5.2 FO firmware,

Can be downloaded from here:
http://products.plus-payh.co.uk/firmware/

If your using win7, win8 or win10 be sure to use the windows 7 flash utility and use in windows 7 compatibility mode.
