Low profile NTE5 and SSFP
« on: November 12, 2015, 09:36:42 PM »

Is there any sign that Openreach could design a low profile NTE5 & SSFP because at the moment it sticks out about 3 inches and one could wack their ankles on this it's just so protruding.

A one inch design with all plates installed would me more pleasing to the eye  :)

you could try using a flush mounted backbox rather than a surface mount one.

I can do that myself BS just when you get time maybe during one of those high end OR conferences you could stand up and insist on low profile NTE5/A and SSFP's you would make a lot of home owners happy and bugger the speed let's get the Master Socket thinner  ;D

I don't get invited to conferences anymore ..... apparently I have negative views. They'd be in tears if some of the guys on here turned up !!  ;D

I absolutely take your point about the SSFP, there's never been mention made to the minions, of a slimmer verion in the offing ........... but, you never know ?.

Are you allowed to do that?   It would be a lot neater,  but I'd always assumed the back box was BT's responsibility, and a customer wouldn't be allowed to do this.

You can do want you want regarding the back-box. All new-build properties have the sunken back-boxes for their sockets.  :)

But to sink an existing one you'd need to completely remove it..........
