An update on my situation.  I've been checking the availability checker several times daily and the other night Fibre suddenly started showing as 'Available'.  By the next morning it was back to 'Waiting list' but I spoke to my friend at Plusnet who confirmed that my order had come off the waiting list and was now committed with a live date of 19th Jan.  Yaaay!  :-)  Seems a slot became available and I've taken it.

It's a shame most ISP's (Plusnet included) don't seem to support the waiting list.  They need to update their order processing systems!

Remember that Openreach create the waiting list when ports are full, not when an order is placed. That means the "list" can be empty.

And, given that you can't find an ISP that can add you to the waiting list, it probably starts empty, and stays empty.

An update, had a call from the Executive complaints team this morning to say I can now order infinity, this is probably coincidence but it all moved quickly after the email to the CEO.

All being well I'll have infinity in 3 weeks.
