I had that email this morning too, Dave. It's worth comparing prices elsewhere though. I got a 22" Acer monitor for £145 in PC World recently and there are comparable sat-navs available elsewhere for less too.

It's the quad core PC that's making my wallet itch. :)

Can't wait, think I might have to camp-out on wednesday day night.  :silly:
But take note, the docking station on the top is a dedicated Medion unit and not compatible with anything or anyone else's.

The SCART socket is also a big plus.

But Vista will be the first thing to GO (still been playing with it, and still don't like it)

The other thing with the docking unit is that Medion only sell the complete unit, they will not sell just the case for you to install your own HDD which is a pity.

It's a pretty high spec. I doubt if you could get this much computer for the same money anywhere else in the UK.

Without wishing to be argumentative, that's a much lower spec - less CPU, less memory, and a much lower spec graphics card, no TV tuner, etc. and I bet it's a lot noisier too.

I see your point eric,it just looked a good buy especially for someone who wanted a system complete with a good size monitor.I myself own a Dell, and have been with them for over 15 years.I am totally satisfied and it would have to be something special for me to move away from them. :)

Its the specs on that PC thats making me drool.  - They did a cheaper one last month for £400...  but this offer has very high end equipment installed.

I have my eye on another monitor rather than the Aldi/Medion one though.

I agree with UncleUB on the Dell comment.  I've been with them for a good many years too and haven't had any problems so I'm very reluctant to move to other manufacturers.  This may not be logical but even though I look at other machines I feel very dubious about changing.

We have been looking at getting a laptop as well as our current desktop and although I'm drawn to a Samsung R700 (www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/index.cfm?reviewid=1688) I find it very hard to go to a non-Dell solution.

I use their tech hot-line from time-to-time and find them very helpful and polite.
(I don't get breakdowns, I usually want to know about certain products before I buy.)

Sometimes it may take 10 minutes waiting in the queue, but thats not too bad.
