BT network status report weirdness (from clueless.aa.net.uk)
« on: October 10, 2015, 09:52:25 PM »

Andrews & Arnold's "clueless.aa.net" control and status info website was showing the following error message in the log:

"BT Test xDSL Status Check:Inconclusive Status Check Failed Exception: Failed to communicate from ADSL Element Manager to the Mux"

The above error happened when I tried to ask clueless for a status report on a DSL line+modem, should give sync rate, SNRM the usual stats. Around 10:00. I contacted A & A rather belatedly, but it had gone away before they could look at it.

Does anyone have any clue as to what might have been going on?

I got a similar error on a second line, but a third line was ok. The two that were bad were both on the same BRAS.

Turning again to the first line discussed, I tried to start a "copper line test" report on the line, got the same kind of error message.

The Element Manager is what runs the test - the error message indicates a fault at the exchange.
