Does anyone know what the error: Kernel auto boost lock acquisition with raised irql , is pointing to? It's during a random BSOD on my friends computer.

This seems to happen at random times when shes opening a program. Today she went to the Win10 store to update her program and that happened.

It seems quite a few people have this issue. Some think its something to do with bluetooth. But in my friends situation she doesn't use bluetooth. I'm thinking it might be a driver issue?

Any thoughts?

the error indicates it is probably irq related somehow.

Quick bit of googling suggests its bluetooth related so I would try the following in order.

1 - disconnect any bluetooth devices, if this works then look for newer drivers to use with those bluetooth drivers.
2 - disconnect any usb devices
3 - remove any non essential hardware such as soundcard
4 - if still problems at this point try swapping graphics card or using onboard graphics (if an option)
5 - check bios irq settings are set to allow OS to control IRQs.
6 - disable sleep.hibernate
7 - disable functions in bios not needed e.g. such as com ports, parallel ports, onboard sound, 3rd party raid controller's etc.

I would install bluescreenview http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html and once it happens again you can then see the OS files that was effected and then trace it back to installed software.

I'll get the friend to go through those steps.

I wasn't sure if bluescreenviewer worked on Windows 10. Good to know it does.
